Keeping a Reading List You Can Actually Use

A reading list does not need to include every interesting book you encounter. Keep a short group of titles you would like to read soon, and place other suggestions in a separate collection. This makes the next choice easier to see.

Beside each title, write a sentence about why it caught your attention. You might be interested in the subject, the setting, or a recommendation from a friend. That note will be more useful later than a title with no context.

Review the list from time to time and remove items that no longer interest you. After finishing a book, record a thought or a favourite idea in your own words. The list can become a record of your interests as they change.
